Anglers Report
June 8, 2001
{Author: Jim Crewe}

June 8, 2001

  The eBerg team will be updating the angler's report on a regular basis for all those who love to toss the line. Our coverage will be coming from a variety of sources so that the information will be broad and current. Salmon season is approaching fast, and with our first contribution of the season, a word from Jim Crewe...

 Hi All,

  I was down the Mighty Gander River on Tuesday and saw two bright Atlantic Salmon. One was seen at the North Run of Petries, and the other was seen below Big Chute.

  I also had a report that two bright salmon were caught while Trout fishing in the Third pond area of the river.

  That being said, "the fish are back". Only one week to go for opening day.,

  Just to let you know, GRMA will be hosting a Family Fun Fishing Day as part of National Fishing Week (July 1-8).

  This will be a free event...the only catch is that you have to bring your child. We will offer guided boat/fishing tours along the Gander River. To learn more about NFW or our event, go to www.nationalfishingweekcanada.net.

Tight Lines,
Jim Crewe
